“The holidays just wouldn’t
have been the same without the Cedar Falls Lions Club thoughtfulness to St
Patrick's Grade School. I can’t thank
you enough for your help in having one of my wish list items become a reality.
For the past three years I've tried to set aside some monies for the very
project the Cedar Falls Lions are sponsoring.
I almost jumped through the phone when informing CF School Nurse Sue
Gettman that St. Patrick’s Grade School would love and use 20 such emergency
tubs! When the tubs arrive, I'll have
students send a big "thank you" note to the CF Lions Club! Again Thank You. Sister Marilou Irons,
Principal, St. Patrick’s Grade School."
▪ January the 1st was established as the first day of the
year by Julius Caesar in 46 B.C.. New Year's is the oldest holiday celebration
in existence, although the Babylonians celebrated it (4,000 years ago) in March
instead of January.
