PRESIDENT’S MESSAGE (March 10th)

Fellow Lions, I think all of my complaining is having an effect on our weather.  Sounds like we will have a nice week.  Lets make sure we have a successful Spring Pancake Breakfast!  Get your tickets SOLD.

This is our main fundraiser for the year and we will need everyone's best effort.  We will have to buy the pancake batter and syrup which will cut into our profits, so every ticket counts!  Also make sure you have signed up to work a shift.

LAST MEETING (March 3rd)

Callie Weiss, 18 years old and a recent graduate from Cedar Falls High School, spoke to the club about her budding musical career in Christian music. She has performed in numerous concerts throughout the area and in other states and released an album a year ago entitled, “These Walls”, produced by Ultima Songs.  From the Ultima Songs website: Callie began singing and playing piano when she was five years old. By the age of twelve she was composing her own songs and recording professionally. When Grammy-nominated, Gold Record producer Tom Tatman (StoneSour) heard the piano/vocal demo tracks for "These Walls" he was inspired to record a fully-produced version of the album.  “Callie’s a teenage phenomenon.  Her song-writing, musicianship and vocal performances on the CD

are extraordinary,” stated Tatman. This is one of the most exciting new artists and releases we have seen in years. Callie has a number of potential hit songs on this beautifully-recorded CD.  The musicians and Tom Tatman’s work on this record is stellar,” label president Steve McLoone announced after the signing. Callie indicated that most of her songs are written using the piano. Within the past year, she has also learned to play the guitar. During her presentation, Callie performed the songs, “Hero” and “If I Ever”, for which she wrote the music and lyrics. Callie has her own MySpace website which features audio of her songs. BEDROOM IQ

When choosing paint colors for the bedroom go with soothing blues and greens, which are associated with sleep-inducing feelings of peace and serenity.

When buying a new mattress, always give it a break-in period of 30 days before determining if it meets your expectations.

Bedroom lighting should be made up mostly of bulbs of 40 watts or less, because lower lighting tells your brain that you're headed for sleep.

IT'S GREAT TO BE A LION!
