LAST MEETING (June 18th)
Mike Sieren, Intern with
the Registers Annual Great Bike Ride Across Iowa (RAGBRAI) Cedar
Falls planning committee, provided the membership with
some interesting information regarding RAGBRAI that will take place on
Wednesday July 25th. This will be the third time that Cedar
Falls has hosted a RAGBRAI. The previous two occurred in
1993 and 1998. This years event promises to be the biggest that has ever taken
place due to the fact that Lance Armstrong has promised to ride the entire
route from western to eastern Iowa. In
addition, the Armstrong foundation has coordinated “Blues Traveler” a
nationally acclaimed band, to play at the UNI Dome Wednesday evening. Proceeds
from the concert will benefit the Armstrong foundation in their fight against
cancer with a portion staying in the Cedar Valley for
cancer-related charities. Mike indicated that there are many ways to become
involved as a volunteer for this years event. There are numerous committees
that would be happy to take on more people and there is a need for individuals
to provide housing for RAGBRAI participants. If you are interested in getting
involved, you can contact the Cedar Falls Visitors & Tourism Bureau at
268-4266 or check out the RAGBRAI web site at http://www.cedarfallsragbrai.org/

LIONS CLUB PANCAKE BREAKFAST
2007 STURGIS FALLS

Our faithful members
getting their grills ready for a hungry group of pancake lovers.

The early
risers arrive to sample what are the best ever pancakes, sausages, coffee,
orange juice and milk ever produced to date by the Cedar Falls Lions Club.

I think
someone was worried that turnout was not very heavy. They spoke to soon!
IT'S GREAT TO BE A
LION!
