  Defining Proper Attire
A person's clothing is the first and fastest clue as to his or her business position.  When others see an expensive, traditional suit, the person is identified as a "corporate type".  On the other hand, a "pretty" dress or a "cool" shirt suggest the person is a lower- level clerical or production worker.

Chosing the "proper" attire for work is a lot more complicated than just buying an interview suit.  Every organization has its own style, each job has its own status, and workers dress differently for different activities.
