ELIGIBILITY: There are two divisions in the National Economics Challenge Competition: (1) The Adam Smith Division which is open to students enrolled in (or completed) Advanced Placement Economics (Macro or Micro), honors economics, a two semester high school economics, or any other advanced economics courses during the current academic year. (2) The David Ricardo Division is for students enrolled in (or completed) a one semester high school economics course, consumer economics, personal finance course, or related disciplines such as social studies, business, or family and consumer sciences during the current academic year. Any team containing one or more students enrolled in a course listed below in the Adam Smith Division must compete in the Adam Smith Division. Students who have taken or are taking economics or economics related courses for college credit from a post-secondary instructor are not eligible to compete.
