There are many resources available for educators to use in their classrooms related to economics and personal finance from the Federal Reserve Bank System. Below is a sampling of some of the links:

  • The Federal Reserve System Education Portal - a portal to the Federal Reserve System and each of the 12 Federal Reserve Banks related to economic and financial education.
  • Personal Financial Education - a new resource from the Federal Reserve that provides many links to topics in personal finance.
  • The Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago Education Page - Iowa is served by the FRB of Chicago and this is the link to their economic education resource page. The FRB of Chicago publishes an e-letter for teachers called "On Reserve" and back copies are available in pdf format on-line.
  • The American Currency Exhibit at the Federal Reserve Bank of San Francisco is a popular site for educators interested in all things related to American currencies over the years.
  • What is a Dollar Worth? The inflation calculator at the Federal Reserve Bank of Minneapolis is a popular tool to use with students in understanding the concept of inflation.
  • The Beige Book - Commentary on current economic conditions complied from each of the 12 Federal Reserve Banks. A great resource for students participating in the "Fed Challenge" program.
