Message From the Dean: Expressing Our Educational Identity
Welcome to the Professional Skills Initiative (PSI) - a unique program that we offer at the College of Business Administration (UNIBusiness) for our undergraduate business students!

UNIBusiness provides a demanding education to students from Iowa and around the world. Our graduates' distinctive advantage resides in the unique blend of qualities they offer: essential business knowledge, contemporary professional skills, and traditional work values. Our educational intent is to develop graduates who are prepared to meet the global leadership challenges of the 21st century.
The success of UNIBusiness in achieving these educational objectives requires noteworthy contributions from three stakeholder groups:
- In order to continue to provide a first-rate education that features cutting-edge business knowledge, we need our faculty.
- An invaluable source of expertise regarding the "street smarts" or practical know-how in professional skills that our students can acquire through PSI is provided by our alumni and other business professionals.
- The application of work values need to be demonstrated by our students who are the key players in their education.
If each of these stakeholders—faculty, business professionals, and students—does its part, there is every reason to believe that UNIBusiness can achieve its educational intent with graduating students who will be ready for the next step in their career with an ability to differentiate themselves when entering the workplace.
