Pernell Cezar, Jr. (Finance, Marketing) and Donald Kamara (Management: Supply Chain and Operations) have been nominated for the Alliant Energy/Erroll B. Davis, Jr. Achievement Award by professors in the College of Business Administration at the University of Northern Iowa. Recipients of the scholarship will receive a cash prize of up to $5,000.
The two business students have shown academic achievement as well as personal merit. Pernell is currently serving as president of the Northern Iowa Student Government. He is also the president and co-founder of the UNI Society of Dispute Resolutions, co-president of the College of Business Administration Dean’s Advisory Group and has served as an RA, mentor, and president of the EXCEL Minority Student Business Organization in the past.
Donald has been involved in many activities on and off campus. He presently serves as president of the UNI African Union and president of the UNI Supply Chain Management Association. Donald is also a UNI Student Admissions Ambassador, and he has been a recipient of the John Deere Supply Chain Scholarship Award. Donald and Pernell are both graduating in May, 2010.
The Erroll B. Davis, Jr. Achievement Award was created in honor of Erroll B. Davis, Jr. and his nearly 30 years of service to the utility industry. The scholarship seeks to recognize the importance of scholarship and leadership by under-represented minority students attending one of the state schools in Iowa. Last year’s award went to UNI student, Clarence Lobdell III (Accounting '09).
