Responsibilities
As the Associate Dean, Leslie has a number of different responsibilities. She provides direction and leadership with regard to maintaining the College's AACSB accreditation. She is the MBA Program Director for the campus program as well as the program operating in Hong Kong. She serves as supervisor or manager for several of the functional areas of the College including student advising services, minority recruiting and retention, information technology support services, and international programs promotion and development. She is the Dean's designee for issues associated with curriculum, students, program review, and compliance and equity management. She is a member of the team coordinating the communications and promotion of the College, including team leader for development and expansion of the CBA website. She currently serves as an institutional representative for the Iowa Women in Higher Education, a member of the Department of International Programs advisory board, and institutional representative on the Regent's International Study Committee.
Professional Accomplishments
Dr. Wilson is a tenured faculty member in the Department of Management. Her interests in supply chain, information systems development processes as well as teaching pedagogy has resulted in nineteen journal article publications in such journals as International Journal of Production Research, Supply Chain Management International, Journal of Production Economics, International Journal of Service Industry Management, Journal of Information Systems Education, and International Journal of Purchasing and Materiels Management. In addition, she has over 25 presentations or proceedings. Between 2003 and 2006, she received over $300,000 in Business and International Education (BIE) grant funding from the U.S. Department of Education and served as the grant manager for those two grants. In 1996 she was awarded the CBA Innovations in Teaching Award and in 2006 the Veridian Community Engagement Award. Before coming to UNI, she worked seven years as an independent contractor, developing systems for small businesses.
International Experience
As the MBA program director, Dr. Wilson has spent considerable time on location in Hong Kong. As part of the BIE grant management, she put together two faculty development programs in China, one of which partnered with an Iowa Department of Economic Development trade mission. In addition to teaching in Hong Kong, she has also been a visiting faculty member at the University of Klagenfurt, Klagenfurt Austria. Her administrative responsibility to expand the international programs of the College regularly takes her to international locations.
