The College of Business Administration educates students to become leaders. We provide the intellectual resources and practical opportunities that allow our students to inspect and develop their leadership strengths. Similarly, the CBA itself is managed with close attention to the requirements of effective leadership.

Faculty and Officers
In keeping with academic tradition, the faculty as a body is the foundation of CBA leadership. The academic direction of the College must emerge from the collective judgment of the faculty. At the same time, the overall coordination and implementation of the College’s academic duties requires careful and expedient budgetary, philosophical and day-to-day oversight. The Dean, appointed by the University’s Provost with the advice of the faculty, along with the Associate Dean and department heads, all appointed by the Dean with the advice of the faculty, are the officers of the College who assure efficient attention to operating details while helping to shape the College’s academic and professional vision.

Advisory Boards
Committed to strong and mutually beneficial links to the business community and other external constituencies, the College’s leadership team is counseled by many busy, successful professionals who give their time to sit on a number of advisory boards, including most prominently the Dean’s Executive Advisory Board, where they bring their practical and intellectual expertise to the service of the College. In addition, the College is served by boards that focus on accounting, finance, management, marketing, and real estate.

Academic Chairs
As the CBA has grown in stature and resources, contributions from generous individuals and organizations have allowed the College to establish a number of academic chairs to provide specialized leadership in scholarly areas of particular strength and importance to the College and its students. Those chairs now include accounting education, accounting, international economics, entrepreneurship, ethics, finance and innovation.
