UNI MBA "a cutting-edge program for the changing world"
The University of Northern Iowa is an outstanding business school, for the fourth consecutive year, according to The Princeton Review. The New York-based education-services company features the school in the just-published 2010 edition of "The Best 301 Business Schools".
According to Robert Franek, Princeton Review senior vice president-publishing, "We are pleased to recommend UNI to readers of our book and users of our site, as one of the best institutions they could attend to earn an MBA. We chose the 301 business schools in this book based on our opinion of their academic programs and offerings, as well as our review of institutional data we collect from the schools. We also strongly consider the candid opinions of students attending the schools who rate and report on their campus experiences at their schools on our survey for the book."
Farzad Mousavi, dean of UNI's College of Business Administration, said, "It is very gratifying to receive recognition from The Princeton Review, which is internationally respected for its independence. While The Princeton Review concentrates on MBA programs, being listed is a worthy recognition for our entire college and for the university at large. This is definitely the case for UNI where the primary mission is to deliver high quality undergraduate education."
"The Best 301 Business Schools 2010 Edition" has two-page profiles of the schools with write-ups on their academics, student life and admissions, plus ratings for their academics, selectivity and career placement services.
In a "Survey Says…" sidebar in UNI's profile, The Princeton Review lists topics that UNI students surveyed for the book were in most agreement about. The list includes solid preparation in marketing, accounting, general management and operations.
The Princeton Review's 80-question survey asked students about themselves, their career plans, and their schools' academics, student body and campus life. One current UNI student told The Princeton Review, "UNI's MBA program allows for a quick completion time while providing the business instruction I need." Overall, students in the UNI program see, "a cutting-edge program for the changing business world" and praise the school for adjusting to financial changes and how they affect the business world.
