At a Global Associates event organized by the International Club of Business Students (ICBS), Nadia Shumilova (MBA) and Brian Van Dresak (business minor) shared the food and culture of Russia with a group of UNIBusiness students. The presentation took place on October 21 and is one in a series this fall where international students share their home culture with other UNI students interested in international business or relations. Nadia is from St. Petersburg and arrived here in August. Brian traveled to Russia on a short-term study abroad this past summer and will spend spring semester there.
Those attending learned intimate details of Russian culture and enjoyed some good conversation as well.
Upcoming Global Associates events organized by ICBS include “Focus on Morocco and Algeria” on November 4, and “Focus on South Korea” on November 18. All students are welcome at the events held in room 126 of the Curris Business Building at 3:30 p.m.
Global Associates is organized by the International Club of Business Students. The organization hosts international students at social events, and has a semester field trip to various metro areas to visit companies involved in international operations. The Global Associates Program is financially supported by the Bill Kimball International Relations Endowed Fund. For more information on ICBS visit www.uni.edu/studentorgs/icbs or stop by CBB 261.
