Research Interests
Labor and Development Economics -- issues regarding child labor in developing countries, impact of education on earnings from a gender perspective, issues regarding employment of women in developed and developing countries.

Professional Accomplishments
Professor Amin joined the Department of Economics in 2000 after teaching at University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, University of Nebraska at Omaha, and Grinnell College. Since joining the UNI faculty, she has produced a record of publications that deal with child labor and gender employment issues in developing countries. These publications have appeared in the Southern Economic Journal, World Development, Journal of Developing Areas, Journal of Economics, and Journal of Asian Economics, to name a few.

International Experience
Dr. Amin is originally from Bangladesh and has travelled to China, Hong Kong, and India.
