Responsibilities
Cindy Angel is Research Manager for the Institute for Decision Making (IDM) and for the Economic Development Research Program in the Business and Community Services (BCS) division at The University of Northern Iowa. She joined IDM as a Research Associate in 1990 and became Research Manager in 1993. Her responsibilities include coordinating and directing primary and secondary research projects, which have included barge transportation in Iowa, railroad transportation, speculative buildings, adaptive reuses of state mental health facilities, and labor force trends. Angel also completes community assessments, target industry analysis studies, labor force assessments, and comparative analyses for client communities.
Professional Accomplishments
Several of Angel's projects have received awards from a predecessor body of the International Economic Development Council (IEDC) in the Sales Literature and Promotional Materials Competition and the Mid-America Economic Development Council (MAEDC) in the Development Materials Awards Competition.
Before joining the IDM staff, Angel was a Management Instructor in the College of Business at UNI where she taught courses in decision-making. Angel was also a marketing consultant for the Small Business Development Center where she developed marketing plans for local business clients.
