Responsibilities
Ms. Briggs administers the student teaching and pre student teaching field experiences program with the assistance of the faculty of OSFE Division (Office of Student Field Experiences). She provides assistance in the development of strong relationships between school personnel of the off-campus centers and the college administration and departmental faculties. She also works with the faculty coordinators in the implementation and coordination of the policies and programs of professional field experiences.
Professional Accomplishments
Ms. Briggs is active in the professional organizations associated with business teaching. She is currently the Delta Pi Epsilon Alpha Chapter Sponsor and has been since 1990. She has been the North Central Business Education Association Representative, Awards Chair and past president and convention chair of the Iowa Business Education Association.
She shares her expertise with the business teaching profession through writing activities that support business teachers. She is the co-author of the Iowa Department of Education Standards and Benchmarks, editor and author of Delta Pi Epsilon Best Practices publication and has published in NBEA FORUM and has a chapter in a NBEA Yearbook. She has presented at numerous state and national conferences.
The impact of her activities have been recognized through many awards, including Delta Pi Epsilon Outstanding Service in Coordination of Publication, Iowa Business Education Outstanding Post Secondary Business Educator, Iowa Business Education Distinguished Service Award and Scholarship, and the Lloyd V. Douglas Alumni Educator Award.
