Professional Accomplishments
Bev has served as the Economics Department secretary since 1995. She is a paragon of efficiency in a department noted for undertaking a large group of diverse activities. She is constantly on the go and works tirelessly in an extremely demanding job. In addition to her secretarial duties, she makes many of the overseas arrangements for the annual Moscow Bi-lateral Seminar, organizes the banquet and invitation list for the Jepson Symposium, takes care of the details for three summer workshops, types and distributes the department’s annual Newsletter, and serves as secretary to the editor of the Journal of Economics, the Center for Economic Education and the Department Head. As busy as she is, she is always upbeat and positive, creating an enjoyable work environment for everyone around her.
Former student workers who have graduated give glowing testimonials as to how much they learned while working in the department and how Bev helped prepare them for life after graduation. It is a tribute to her warm, caring attitude towards students that so many maintain contact with her long after they have left UNI. Without question, she is unsurpassed in her dedication and commitment to our university and students.
