Students seeking entry into the Master of Accounting (MAcc) program must be admitted into UNI’s Graduate College (www.grad.uni.edu). International students must complete the international application for
admission located here. In addition, students must satisfy the following minimum requirements to be considered for admission, however, satisfaction of these requirements does not guarantee entrance into the MAcc program:
1. Completion of six credit (semester) hours of intermediate-level financial accounting.
2. B- (2.67) or better average GPA on all upper-division (junior-level and higher) accounting courses.
3. Minimum GMAT score of 500.
4. Minimum admission score of 1150 computed by multiplying the undergraduate GPA by 200 and adding that number to the GMAT score.
Waiving the GMAT
The GMAT admission requirement will be waived for UNI students who meet the following requirements at the end of the semester in which Intermediate Financial Accounting II is taken:
1. Completion of at least 75 UNI credit hours.
2. A cumulative GPA of at least 3.0.
No exceptions will be made to these requirements.
Additional Admission Information/Requirements
UNI undergraduate students should apply for admission to the MAcc program immediately following the semester in which they take Intermediate Financial Accounting II. If accepted into the MAcc program, students will be enrolled in an integrated program where they take both graduate and undergraduate courses. They will receive both the bachelor of arts (BA) and MAcc degrees upon completion of the respective programs of study.
Students should contact UNI’s Financial Aid Office to confirm their financial aid eligibility when they are accepted to the MAcc program since the transition to graduate status can affect their financial aid eligibility.
International students and/or individuals without English as a first language will be required to take the TOEFL® iBT. Applicants must earn a minimum score of 89 on this test to be admitted. If the TOEFL® iBT is not offered in the applicant’s country, then the applicant must take the TOEFL® and Test of Spoken EnglishTM (TSE®). Minimum scores on these tests for admission are 575 (or 230 on the computerized version) on the TOEFL® and 50 on the TSE®. IELTS is also accepted. A minimum IELTS score of 7 is required, with no sub-score less than 6.
