International Opportunities

Visiting another country at any age is an exciting prospect, but studying in a foreign locale is almost a necessity for students to understand today’s global economy. Participating in one of the many study abroad programs at UNI is a great way to gain a clear view of today’s international business landscape. Here are a few to consider:

     World-wide Study Abroad
     Moscow Research Exchange
     Internship in China
     Seminar in Paris

Study Abroad
Jump start your career with an exciting and educational study abroad experience. The CBA has partnerships with colleges all over the world, from New Zealand to Ireland, France to Japan. These experiences will provide an international perspective while earning UNI course credit. Programs can last for two-weeks, a month, a semester, or a full school year. For more information about CBA study abroad programs, contact Chris Schrage at christine.schrage@uni.edu, visit her UNIBusiness International website or the UNI Office of International Programs.

Moscow Research Exchange
Gain an international perspective in business with the Moscow Exchange program. UNI students and their counterparts from Plekhanov Russian Academy of Economics (PRAE) spend a semester focusing on one topic. During the semester, a select group of UNI students travel to Moscow and PRAE students visit the UNI campus. During their visits, students from both institutions make presentations on research topics and host each other in their home countries.  Students should contact Fred Abraham, Department of Economics, for more information.

Internship in China

This 12-month internship provides a detailed picture of Chinese business and personal life while putting the students' skills into practice in a new work environment. For more information, e-mail Chris Schrage, program advisor, at christine.schrage@uni.edu.  To learn from those who have experienced this internship, see the China Diaries.

International Business Seminar in Paris
Graduate students in business, both MBA and Master of Accounting, can fulfill elective requirements through an international business seminar offered at Institut Supérieur du Commerce (ISC) in Paris, France. This two-week seminar is offered during the May term, typically the week following finals. Participating students acquire cultural sensibility and European business expertise from outstanding faculty and seasoned professionals from the corporate world. Students interested in this opportunity are encouraged to contact the MBA Program Director, Leslie Wilson.
