waiting list and check back in CBB 321B to determine if space is
available after everyone else who needs the course for their major
has had an opportunity to register for it.
9. What does priority registration mean for business classes?
Priority
registration means that the CBA saves space in business courses
during advance registration for students who need those courses
for their major. That is, students who need business courses for
their major have registration priority over those who need those
courses for a minor or for an elective. Please read the CBA Guide
to Registration. A copy of the Guide can be found in CBB 321B or
can be downloaded HERE.
10. What is the difference between a CBA faculty advisor and a CBA professional advisor?
The College
of Business Administration provides two types of advising assistance
to business majors - faculty advising and professional advising.
All business students are assigned a faculty advisor from their
major department. The faculty advisor provides career information
and information regarding the major. The CBA professional advisors,
located in CBB 321B (CBA Student Advising and Career Services Office),
provide more technical advising assistance. Professional advisors
help business majors develop individual plans of study, provide
assistance during registration and scheduling, and link students
with faculty advisors.
