Technology Equipment Checkout Policy
August 2005
The College has a limited number of notebook computers, digital cameras, and portable Zip drives available for short term check out by students enrolled in Business classes. These items may be checked out (upon presentation of photo ID) in the Information Technology Office (CBB 216). During the Fall and Spring semesters, the office is staffed during regular business hours. During summer session and over breaks, however, please make specific arrangements well ahead of time. (X37969). All borrowers must sign a check out form acknowledging responsibility for the equipment.
Most equipment should be returned to CBB 216 during regular business hours.
Equipment may be reserved by contacting the Info Tech Office. If not picked up on the day for which it was reserved, the equipment will be released to others. Remember: Availability depends on the equipment being returned on time by the previous user.
Equipment may be checked out for a maximum of two weeks in a four-week period. Consecutive checkouts will not be permitted except under unusual circumstances, at the discretion of Bret Jacobsen or Matt O'Brien. No check out charge will be imposed unless the equipment is damaged or not returned by the due date.
Eligibility: All students enrolled in Business classes are eligible to check out CBA-owned technology equipment. Checkouts will be allowed over breaks during semesters, but not over breaks between semesters.
Late/Lost Equipment: Notebook computers returned within one week of the due date will incur a late fee of $5 per day overdue. A late fee of $10 per day overdue will be charged during the second week. After two weeks (14 days), the notebook computer will be considered lost, and the full cost of the computer will be charged to the user.
When a digital camera or Zip drive is returned late, a fee of $2 per day overdue will be charged. After two weeks, the equipment will be considered lost and the full cost will be charged to the user.
The late fee will be waived for the first day overdue. After the first day, late fees will be assessed. Check out privileges may be withdrawn after a second late return. Any costs of repair or replacement of equipment will be assessed to the borrower.
