The Thomas R. Amlie Economics Scholarship was established by Tom Amlie
to provide scholarship support for UNI economics majors who demonstrate
financial need and who have shown a high level of academic achievement.
The scholarship was established to help ease the financial burden on
students.
After graduating in 1986, Tom moved to Chicago to pursue his
interest in commodity trading at the Chicago Board of Trade. He felt he
received a solid foundation for understanding markets through his
education in the UNI Economics Department. After retiring from the
Board of Trade, Tom is now involved in businesses in Cedar Falls and
decided to create this scholarship.
Full-time Economics majors who will be seniors in the fall semester are eligible to apply for this scholarship. |
